It is important to have the right fitting socks for your activity, as they say... your boots are only as good as the socks inside them!

First select the correct size of Bridgedale sock, then consider which boots or shoes you will be wearing the socks with to ensure you avoid too much material inside the boot or shoe making the boot fit too tightly.

Bridgedale uses Lycra® in a way which means that the perfect fit you enjoy on the first wear lasts time and time again.

Lycra® is used in specific zones of the Bridgedale sock to make sure the sock stays fitted mile after mile. The additional Lycra® is knitted to the under arch and above the heel to prevent the sock slipping down while in use. Lycra® is also used in the cuff of the sock to help the cuff stay up.

Women's Bridgdale Socks

Bridgedale’s hugely popular Women’s range of socks are not just alternative colours of the standard range. Women typically have a higher instep, narrower heel and lower volume foot than men.
To significantly improve the design and fit of thier Women’s socks Bridegdale made reduced the volume to improve the fit around the heel, instep
and general width.

A lower volume sock is slightly narrower in all areas than the standard fit sock.
This results in a superb fit mile after mile.

To make selecting the correct sock for your activity easier, the Outdoor range is sub-divided into Heavyweight, Midweight and Lightweight styles.

Heavyweight Socks
Designed to be worn in colder conditions these are Bridgedale’s thickest, most cushioned and insulating socks and are suitable for use with Mountaineering and Trekking boots. These styles provide defence against the cold with high density cushioning that remains resilient all day long.
Heavyweight styles are also called Summit.

Midweight Socks
Designed for 3 season hiking and trekking in all conditions, Bridgedale’s Midweight socks offer medium cushioning which is best for all-round comfort whilst on the move.
Midweight styles are also called Trekker. e.g. Comfort Trekker Sock

Lightweight Socks
Designed for 2 season versatility for summer hiking and trails, Bridgedale’s Lightweight socks are suitable for lighter footwear and offer dense underfoot cushioning for comfort, but are light and breathable on top.
